In this covid time, we were able to spend a large amount of time with our family, so our bonds deepen with each other. Even if the other person does not say something, we get a feeling that something happened. So I want to know whether we, teenagers understand our parents after spending such a long time with them?

What I think is that we do understand them, be it emotionally or financially. And it was not just due to this pandemic, but before this also, we were able to understand them. It’s just in this period, we grew close enough to talk or discuss these sensitive topics. Especially in a country like India, where parents love and care for their kids so much that they tend to hide things, no matter how bad the situation is.

So, according to me, there are 2 types of teenagers, one who accepts everything and plan according to it and the other who tends to ignore these things and just live the way they want. To elaborate on it, some teenagers understand their parents and situation, so they tend to help them in every way possible. Why? because they have a sense of responsibility towards them and of course their unconditional love.

On the other hand, some teenagers knowing everything tend to ignore things as they think that their parents can handle it, so there is no need to worry, and I agree our parents will resolve everything. But as a family, their problems are ours too. So why shouldn’t we help them, support them in any way possible? As their kids, we are their happiness, strength, courage and everything, and if they realise that we are trying to help them, they will feel proud of us and maybe it will help in solving problems easily too?!

At last, I would just say that as a family we should help each other in going forward, especially in these crisis times, when support is what we need the most! So I hope you all will act like mature adults who can support their families and parents so that no one will feel down or helpless. And I am not asking you to grow up too soon, just be sensible enough and understand your responsibilities!
